Job Description1. General Position Summary:The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability and growth within an assigned territory or market segment by effectively selling the company's chemical products. This role involves contacting and securing new business accounts/customers.2. Essential Job Functions:Primary Job Functions:
- Promote and sell the company's chemical products to potential and current customers.
- Generate leads, visit customers, and give sales presentations.
- Negotiate contracts with clients and meet or exceed sales goals.
- Coordinate sales efforts with marketing initiatives.
- Travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Stay informed about competitors, technological trends, and changes in legislation/trade regulations.
- Attend networking events, tradeshows, and conferences.
- Analyze sales trends and prepare reports for management.
- Support sales operations by maintaining client records and determining pricing schedules.
- Prepare accurate sales information and reports.
- Manage inventory control and conduct inventory counts.
- Collect accounts receivable and update CRM.
- Provide quality customer service by preparing sales contracts and resolving inquiries.
- Follow up on customer calls, visits, and inquiries.
Secondary Job Functions:
- Keep management informed by reporting problems and participating in meetings.
- Manage time and resources effectively to maximize productivity.

3. Essential Job Requirements:Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, listen, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms.
- Occasionally required to kneel or crouch and lift/move objects of at least 10 pounds.
- Must be able to read and analyze written information on a computer terminal.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
- Must be able to travel on business or work beyond normal work hours as necessary.
Experience/Minimum Qualifications Needed:
- Must have a chemical background (chemical sales experience and/or a chemical college degree).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and government regulations in English.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, staff, clients, and the public in English.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several variables.
- Must be tactful, mature, and flexible.
- Ability to review and understand technical documents and engage in discussions with customers.
- Ability to understand legal/financial documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
