The US Wholesale Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) will provide the Country Wholesale Chief Operating Officer (WCOO), Head of Global Banking (GB), and Head of Commercial Banking (CMB) with dedicated, forward-thinking and strategic management support, in a wide-ranging capacity. This includes (but is not limited to) supporting with the following activities:

  • Provide strategic management support across the Region
  • Ensure all financial targets are met, and partnering with Finance and the Business on Financial Resource Planning (FRP) and indirect cost management
  • Resource Management including tracking and reporting, managing to agreed target and location strategy, and managing businesses' location strategy and utilization of premises
  • Ensure all relevant employees receive pertinent communications specifically related to CAO activities that impact GB or CMB.
  • Manage, develop and control the organisational design and implementation
  • Work closely with GB and CMB HR to manage the COO office people strategy and ensure all employees are well and properly managed in line with Human Resources policies
  • Contribute to the “service catalogue” which articulates the CMB / GB / DBS agreed scope of ‘services', with appropriate metrics and reporting on quality, efficiency and effectiveness of those “services”
  • Work closely with policy and procedure owners, to ensure all are updated on a timely basis
  • Provide performance oversight of third-party or intra-group service providers
  • Provide support for ad hoc tasks as required
  • Assist in the preparation and development of presentations for Senior Leadership for WCOO, GB, and CMB
  • For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $208,700.00 and $300,000.00

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Strong financial analytical background and proven ability in financial/analytical reasoning, including being able to contextualise financial data into business activities and conclusions.
  • Demonstrated business knowledge in CMB, GB, and DBS.
  • Outstanding understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group.
  • Ability to present complex issues confidentially and concisely using simple language to accommodate globally distributed stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (Risk, regulatory, political, competitors etc.).
  • Outstanding relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills.
