About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead the creation and management of fundraising programs and institutional advancement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy, implementation, and execution of various fundraising initiatives, including soliciting grants, corporate sponsorships, planned giving, annual giving, and capital campaigns. This role involves generating effective special events, identifying donor prospects, and overseeing donor cultivation and stewardship. The Chief Development Officer will also be tasked with managing a team of fundraising professionals, mentoring them, and working with the CEO to enhance the organization's culture of philanthropy. Additionally, the role includes serving as a representative at community events and with organizations, as well as ensuring the Development team meets annual budgeted fundraising goals.Applicants for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years' of successful fundraising experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. The role requires comprehensive management skills, experience in short and long-term planning, and a proven track record in cultivating and securing major gifts. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in grant and proposal writing, have a solid base in the philanthropic community, and be adept at working both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, the ability to maintain a professional demeanor, and a commitment to the mission of the organization are essential. The Chief Development Officer will also be expected to have a valid Florida State driver license, and a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification is preferred.
