SAIC is actively seeking a Chief Engineer to support the UVC program in Huntsville, AL.

The qualified candidate will perform Chief Engineering activities related to the Uncrewed Vehicle Control (UVC) program and will provide technical leadership for day-to-day operations, planning, direction, and coordination of product engineering efforts. This position is responsible for serving as the technical spokesperson for the product and advises the Program Manager, Task Lead, and Government Stakeholders on schedule, technical direction, and priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Serve as technical expert in respective technology for product.

* Lead technical discussions with prime contractor and Government.

* Work with engineers and developers to ensure product meets customer requirements and expectations.

* Provide technical status and guidance to senior leadership, customers, and business partners.

* Provide guidance in establishing the design approach as well as ensuring adherence throughout product development.

* Ensure product is developed using Agile methodologies supported by customer capabilities planning and reviews.

* Work with stakeholders to Identify, assess, and propose mitigation of technical risks to product.

* Communicate complex technical information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

* Ensure product is in compliance with standards set forth for cybersecurity, safety, airworthiness, FACE, MOSA, etc.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or other related field with nine (9) years of related experience in technical management overseeing complex projects; Additional six (6) years' experience can be accepted in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Clearance Requirements:

* Must possess an active Secret security clearance or an active interim Secret security clearance; US Citizenship.

Required Skills:

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively present complex information to senior leaders.

* Experience in a large, complex multifaceted system and system of systems engineering, testing, & integration environment.

* Experience developing work estimates for project proposals.

* Experience with modeling tools, requirement tools, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and test management tools.

* Experience with Digital Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering.

* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

* Knowledge of DoD software safety regulations and quality control procedures.

* Experience with Open Architecture Standards such as FACE and MOSA.

* Familiarity with DoD Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS).

* Experience working DoD programs.
