Pacifica Hotels is searching for a hands on Chief Engineer to join the team at Jamaica Bay Inn, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the maintenance department of the hotel.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

* Adhere to Pacifica's Pure Stay guidelines to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our team members and guests.

* Utilize Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and in accordance with property specific guidelines

* Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.

* Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.

* Supervise the interior and exterior maintenance needs of the entire property.

* Corrective, preventative and emergency maintenance to maintain property in safe and attractive condition.

* Documentation of all mandatory, ongoing, room preventative maintenance.

* Schedule and assign duties to maintenance staff.

* Ensure that tools and equipment are functional and in safe working condition.

* Maintain records of types and frequency of maintenance.

* Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services.

* Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment.

* Conduct regular safety inspections of the property and actively participate in the Hotel's Safety Committee.

* Manage and maintain required certifications and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relating to health and safety.

* Train and supervise maintenance staff.

* Thorough knowledge of power, water, and gas turnoffs, plumbing cleanouts, fire extinguishers.

* Ensure maintenance of exterior lighting, gutter cleaning, walkways, parking areas, trash enclosures, pool/spa, and common area facilities.

* Ensure proper control and possession of all hotel issued keys.

* Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the hotel.

* Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Pay Range: $75,000-$80,0000
