Job Type: Full-Time, Salary Position.

Position Overview & General Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) are to oversee all accounting and finance operations for the company. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, and serving as an advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, the CFO is responsible for the overall financial integrity of the organization by developing, recommending and managing financial plans that support the vision and mission of the organization. This C-suite role will provide strategic direction and insight – vision, leadership and management – for all cash management, investments, insurance, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting. Includes but is not limited to the development and implementation of best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has sound fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications and workflows. As a seasoned strategist, the CFO will not only understand current accounting practices and trends, but also have experience raising capital and adapting to change. The ideal candidate must have ten plus years of increasing responsibility in an executive role with a demonstrated track record of continuous quality improvement, leadership with steadfast resolve, team building, strategic management, change management, communications, problem solving and decision making, financial management, and stewardship of resources. Must exhibit personal integrity and reliability. Demands sound business acumen, profound financial expertise and strategic planning abilities, proficiency in risk management, technological savvy, as well as comprehension of advanced accounting practices, regulatory and compliance issues and tax planning. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business accounting or finance related field is required; Master's degree, such as an MBA, strongly preferred. Professional certification – Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) – required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Accounting or Finance related field required.
  • Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience leading accounting/finance function.
  • Certification as public or management accountant. Subject matter expert on GAAP.
  • Administrative and organizational skills, along with a strong attention to detail are required.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office with expert level proficiency in Excel, Accounting/General Ledger software, and a strong understanding of Enterprise Resource Programs (ERP) and/or Management Information Systems.
  • Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to provide appropriate leadership and oversight to functional team.
  • Written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and comprehend all types of written materials, strong phone etiquette and ability to speak with appropriate grammar.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity.
  • Customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach when engaging all individuals.
  • Travel as required.

Environmental and Physical Considerations:

Work Environment: General office environment with normal lighting levels, temperature ranges, air quality, ventilation and low noise levels. Physical Demands: Lifts, carries, pushes or otherwise manipulates equipment and office materials weighing up to 25lbs. Always use proper lifting and moving protocols and techniques. Work Hazards: Office environment.
