Chief Financial Officer (CFO)A prominent nonprofit organization located in Portland, OR, is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will focus on financial stewardship and identifying future growth opportunities. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate financial operations for the organization ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee preparation and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets, assisting management in departmental budget development and performance analysis.
- Supervise and mentor team members to ensure effective financial management.
- Recommend financial policies, ensure compliance with policies and internal controls, and serve as Tax Compliance Officer.
- Participate in long-range planning and provide financial analysis and reports to the Board.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPA a plus.
- 8 years of progressive financial management experience with recent exposure to service-oriented industries (property management, hospitality, retirement living).
- Tech-savvy with ERPs, financial reporting systems, and advanced Excel skills.
- Highly collaborative with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically, effectively problem solve, and make decisions.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to effectively manage and delegate competing tasks and priorities.
