About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee and manage the financial operations in a government setting. The CFO will be responsible for formulating and directing all aspects of financial planning and administration, including the development of comprehensive budgets. This role involves supervising a team of professional, technical, and clerical staff, ensuring compliance with legal and governmental financial standards, and maintaining a sound system of internal controls. The CFO will also be involved in the preparation of the annual budget, managing the investment of funds, and assisting with the annual financial audit.Candidates for the Chief Financial Officer position at the company should have a Master's degree in a related field, with a CPA or advanced degree/doctorate preferred, and 9 to 12 years of managerial accounting experience. The role requires considerable knowledge of financial management principles, the ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations, and the skill to develop and administer budgets. The CFO will be the financial advisor to the Superintendent, Board of Education, and County Commissioners, and must be adept at communicating financial information effectively. Additionally, the CFO will be responsible for the legal administration of the budget, maintaining financial records, and overseeing the preparation of financial reports in accordance with relevant standards.
