They are looking for a CFO level candidate to oversee their vast accounting department. This team member will oversee the AR/AP, project accounting team, and corporate bookkeeping.     Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee the monthly closing process, including the review of general ledger accounts and the preparation of journal entries.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly labor reports, including job costing and variance analysis.
  • Review and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of quarterly payroll tax filings.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze project costs and profitability, including the review of work-in-progress schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and work with external auditors during year-end audits.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to other departments as needed.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry with union payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience with WIP closing and job costing.
  • Knowledge of quarterly payroll taxes.
  • Experience with general ledger closing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage, is preferred.
