YOUR MISSION
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a critical leadership role within the network to achieve financial sustainability by maximizing the use of available funds, assessing financial risk and opportunities, and creating cost efficiencies. The CFO will play a lead role in the sustainability of the schools while managing finance, risk management, and payroll. The CFO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESStrategy + Leadership
Set financial strategic direction & drive toward organizational priorities across the networkSet the vision, strategy, and metrics for the fiscal, budgeting, reporting, and auditing workEnsure financial strategies are integrated and aligned across functions that are specific and time-boundCommunicate financial vision, strategy, priorities, and data to stakeholdersBuild, manage, coach, and professionally develop financial staff membersSet clear short-term and long-term priorities that are data-drivenStreamline effective systems and facilitate collaboration amongst school leadersProvide financial coaching and support for schools across the networkFinance & Business
Annual planning and budgeting process for the networkData-driven financial reporting, operations, and accounting inclusive of updated budget and forecastingAnnual auditing processMaintain compliance with financial documentation and regulatory reporting, including tax and TEA reporting as necessaryOversee bookkeeping processes, payroll, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and monthly closing, payment collection, and recordkeepingCross-collaboration with network senior leaders, HR/talent, fundraising effortsFacilities and Real Estate Management
Oversee the financial aspects of facilities managementDevelop and monitor costs associated with long-term facility planningSupport district growth and development needs with infrastructure, facility needs, and real estateEnsure all compliance with state and local regulationsProcurement
Evaluate capital purchasing needs with CEOEvaluate contracts/pricing for ongoing services and regularly-purchased productsMaintain vendor relationshipsEnsure complianceRisk Management and Controls

A Master's degree; preferably an MBA or master's in accounting, finance, or a related field10 years of professional experience with at least 5 years in a finance-related positionDeep understanding of basic accounting principles with knowledge of nonprofit accountingKnowledge of and experience preparing, overseeing, and administering large budgetsExperience working in partnership with lenders, funders, and consultantsKnowledge of the legal and ethical guidelines and obligations applicable to the positionCOMPENSATION
Competitive salary based upon credentials and experience ranging from $134,000 to $194,000The CFO can be based in either Austin, TX, or San Antonio, TX#J-18808-Ljbffr
