As CFO you will play an integral role on the Executive Management team. A culture contributor, this leader is engaged, curious about our industry and is committed to helping The Company build and achieve its goals. You will direct and oversee the financial activities of the company, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth. With a strong leadership voice and presence, you will work to maximize returns on The Company's financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. This role includes, but is not limited to, analysis, creation, and corporate development.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic guidance and proactively partner with CEO, COO and key stakeholders throughout the business to establish, monitor and enforce financial policies, procedures and ensure internal controls are being enforced.
  • Lead banking, insurance, and external accounting and regulatory authority relationships.
  • Work with department heads to monitor each department's budget and make recommendations.
  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Review, reconcile and analyze financial results.
  • Report financial results to management, shareholders and the Board of Directors.
  • Manage preparation of financial reports, outlooks, strategic forecasts, and audits.
  • Develop a financial strategic direction for the business, along with supporting tactics.
  • Monitor the progress of the company in meeting its strategic goals.
  • Lead the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes, providing clarity on variances vs. plans and tracking trends in the business.
  • Develop a system of performance metrics that support the company's strategic vision.
  • Work with other department heads on ad hoc analysis requests (e.g. retention and churn rates, average spend per member/membership level, average trip spend).
  • Implement operational Standard Operating Procedures in the Finance department.
  • Enforce benchmarks for measuring financial and operational performance.
  • Monitor and analyze company's financial statistics with respect to profits, trends, and costs.
  • Advise teams to chart paths towards higher margins of profitability while also ensuring appropriate compliance within budgets.
  • Oversee and manage daily operations for finance and operations departments to understand revenue and cost drivers.
  • Oversee short- and long-term financial goals, objectives, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Foster key relationships with partners (i.e. Bank of America / NetSuite / Salesforce).
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations.
  • Manage and lead the finance team by playing an integral role in recruitment, retention, engagement and development; growing the department as needed.
  • Act as a mentor, guide and advisor to members of the leadership team; providing guidance on modeling and helping leaders look across the various business lines to identify opportunities for growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10-15 years + experience in finance roles that have prepared you well for the responsibilities of this role and the industry. Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance; CPA required, MBA is a plus. Travel industry experience is a plus.
  • Must be familiar with NetSuite and preferably Salesforce. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate trends and adapt to changing industry landscapes. Ability to make recommendations to resolve problems or issues arising, by using judgment that is consistent with company standards, policies, procedures and practices.
