Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the leadership team responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, accounting operations, and performance of a $50 million Renewal by Andersen location. This is a highly operationally focused CFO role that goes beyond traditional finance and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will not only manage financial planning and processes but will also work hands-on alongside other department leaders to drive business performance, optimize operations, and improve overall efficiency.

This role demands a blend of strategic leadership, high technology acumen, and deep operational insight to translate financial data into actionable business strategies. The CFO will be a key decision-maker, actively involved in shaping company initiatives, solving operational challenges, and ensuring that financial insights support sustainable growth. We are seeking a financial leader with a strong operational mindset, not just a number-cruncher—someone who thrives on collaborating with teams across sales, production, installation, and customer service to improve financial and operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's short- and long-term goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the President and leadership team to drive profitability and growth.
  • Collaborate across departments to align financial and operational objectives.

2. Accounting and Human Resources Oversight

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Direct the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversight of Paylocity P/R system and benefits.

3. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead the development of financial models and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Perform detailed cash flow analysis to optimize working capital and ensure liquidity.
  • Conduct ROI analyses for new projects, initiatives, and investments.
  • Year end tax oversight including forecasting and preparation of year end schedules

4. Company and Customer Financing

  • Manage bank relationships and ensure company has growth financing in place.
  • Ensure customer financing programs are available and a strategic advantage.

5. Risk Management and Compliance

  • Manage the company's insurance policies, including liability, property, and workers' compensation coverage.
  • Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including internal policies, tax filings and audits.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure long-term stability.
  • Oversee legal compliance, contracts, and risk management to protect the company.

6. Operational Support

  • Partner with department leaders to drive efficiency in operations, including installation processes and inventory management.
  • Evaluate vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize costs and service levels including benefits.
  • Participate in strategic decision-making related to pricing, sales, and marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee strategic projects and technology implementations.

7. Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Implement training programs to build financial acumen across the organization.
  • Serve as a resource for cross-functional teams, offering financial guidance and support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a small-to-mid-sized company.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficient in financial software, ERP systems, and Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to leadership.
