As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join in our stunning Darling Harbour Sydney office. As the successful candidate, you will be strategic and results driven to oversee the financial operations of our organisation. You will play a critical role in guiding Navantia Australia's financial strategy, ensuring robust financial health and supporting key decision-making processes at the Executive level.

In this role you will:

  • The CFO responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • The Financial Planning of the company. The CFO will develop the financial planning to ensure the alignment with the strategic goals of Navantia Australia. This includes budgeting, forecasting and deviation analysis in conjunction with various stakeholders of the company, such as the Executive Committee (EC), Board of Directors and parent company's officials in Spain.
  • Preparing the financial statements of the Company and will be the organisation's main point of contact with the financial auditors appointed by the Board of Directors to oversee the financial function.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the company and participating in key decisions as a member of the Executive Committee.
  • Financial Reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports to provide a clear picture of the company's financial situation. This will involve a close relationship with the Managing Director (MD), EC and parent company's officials.
  • Ensuring the company complies with financial regulation and accounting standards.
  • Monitoring performance indicators to prevent errors, fraud and financial mismanagement.
  • Monitoring Cash Flow to ensure operations are properly funded and profitable.
  • Analysing costs, profits, trends and deviation to identify opportunities for improvement and associated risks.
  • Overseeing the financials involving the business operation of the business.
  • Advising on strategic investment and managing the investment portfolio to maximize returns and minimize risks.
  • Maintaining relationships with financial partners, stakeholders and other financial institutions.
  • Collaborating with the parent company to prepare Consolidated Financial Statements for Navantia group.
  • Coordinating the insurance policy in alignment with the one from the parent company.
  • Representing the company as Public Officer for tax matters in Australia.
  • Overseeing the financial operations with other companies within Navantia group in Australia and set and ensure solid transfer pricing practices.
  • Leading the Finance team and functional resources across the company.
  • Executing the monthly payroll with the information provided by Human Resources.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with all members of the Executive Committee to follow the Navantia Australia Governance Framework.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Degree in Business, Commerce or Accounting.
  • Proven skills and experience leading the financial function of an organisation.
  • Minimum 10 years managerial experience.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.
