Banyan Global is recruiting a Chief of Party (COP) to lead an upcoming USAID-funded opportunity to employ private-sector and business-minded approaches to speed up progress towards achieving health goals in partnership with countries globally. Based in Washington, D.C., the COP will drive a wide range of diverse market access activities, which could include strategic planning for introduction and scale, market shaping, innovative financing, private sector engagement, and/or human-centered design. The COP will be responsible for overseeing the entire Contract, ensuring complete deliverables, meeting performance objectives, staying within budget, serving as the primary point of contact with USAID, and remaining aligned with the Activitys objectives. The position is full-time and contingent on funding.

Responsibilities:

Provide overall strategic direction, managerial, and technical leadership to ensure project success. Lead all project planning and implementation, ensuring that activity tasks are completed and objectives successfully met. Serve as the primary point of contact with and represent the project to USAID, implementing partners, host country officials, and other relevant stakeholders. Lead the projects local partnership strategy, its implementation, and achieving local capacity strengthening targets. Proactively identify resources required by the project, including consultants and subcontractors, and oversee the development of scopes of work (SOWs) for the same. Ensure the quality and timeliness of all contract deliverables and work products. Directly or indirectly supervise all project staff and consultants, redirecting project teams as needed and/or requested by the client. Advise and inform partners, USAID teams, and other contractors on policies and services offered by the project. Supervise the development, implementation, and reporting of support activities tasks in accordance with the workplan. Ensure compliance with contract provisions, including annual work plans and other reports. Ensure adherence to all relevant USG, Banyan Global, and host country rules, regulations, and laws, including those related to procurement and labor and employment. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

At least 10 years of demonstrated technical expertise, with substantial country context experience in low and middle-income countries, in at least one or more of the following technical areas: design and implementation of innovative financing mechanisms, including blended financing; strategy and/or management consulting; pharmaceutical and/or medical technology; market access bottleneck analyses; and, implementing appropriate strategies. Previous COP experience or equivalent (e.g., Team Leader, Country Director) on a USAID-funded award preferred. Demonstrated experience managing awards of similar magnitude and complexity. Five years of experience successfully managing a diverse team delivering business enabling environment activities. Excellent interpersonal skills and track record of successfully managing relationships with diverse development stakeholders, including government and civil society counterparts and donor and UN partners. Professional fluency in English. Masters degree or higher in public health, business administration, international development or related fields.
