Summary of Position:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees a team of high performing departments; Credit, Documentation, Funding, Loan Servicing, Workout/Legal, Compliance departments as well as onsite IT technician. The COO also works collectively with management to facilitate professional development of team members. In addition, the COO develops processes to secure timely and accurate transaction completion and booking to ensure the company maximizes its ability to optimize productivity and efficiency.

Reports to: President

Reporting to the position: Credit, Documentation, Operations/Compliance, Workout/Legal.

Annual Base Pay Range: $170,000 - $200,000, plus annual incentive bonus opportunity.

Eastern Funding values the importance of a collaborative working environment and working together to achieve our goals. This position should expect to be on-site at either our New York City or Plainview office locations a minimum of three days per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and supervise the Credit, Documentation, Funding, Loan Servicing Departments, Workout/Legal, and Compliance departments; as well as onsite IT Technician.
  • Advise management on employee retention and career development programs; promoting a positive, inclusive professional environment.
  • Train and supervise staff, make employment selection decisions; following all required company policies and compliance.
  • Work collectively with managers to develop processes and procedures to ensure seamless workflow among departments and quality control over completed loans.
  • Work with credit managers to ensure Eastern Funding's section in the Credit Policy is current and updated or revised as needed.
  • Strategic planning, staffing, and implementation of all projects including but not limited to Compliance, Systems, and Originations.
  • Manage compliance issues and stay up to date on regulations important to the security of Eastern and the parent company; oversee the audit process.
  • Point of contact for all human resources issues with parent company, including annual merit process, new hire onboarding, employee issues, etc.
  • Assist the staff in resolving day to day issues that arise, i.e. accounting, posting, customer service, processing and other general business problems.
  • Oversee infrastructure upgrades, manage system implementations, and serve as the company's technology liaison to the parent company and specific vendors.
  • Become a member of the key industry associations and gain valuable knowledge that can be converted into tangible benefits for the company.

Background, Experience and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of senior management experience in a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
  • Extensive understanding of all aspects related to finance and operation.
  • Strong, professional communication skills and the ability to present to large audiences.
  • Ability to lead and provide strategic direction to a diverse staff.
  • Proven track record of successfully facilitating positive organizational change.
