About this position

We seek a dynamic and experienced Executive to join as Chief Regions Officer. The candidate should be an experienced banker with significant regional expertise, a proven track record of successful capital allocation and investments, and strong relationships with relevant private sector companies operating in the region.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop the IDB Invest business plan with the senior management team and ensure its alignment with IDB Group priorities.
  • Maintain relationships with governments and participate in business development with private sector clients and entities.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the four Managing Directors, supporting their strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities.
  • Oversee and be responsible for business performance from a regional perspective with the Delivery Units.
  • Define countries' priorities and strategies and establish upstream work.
  • Identify, promote, and execute synergies with IDB and IDB Lab.
  • Manage resources for the Regions Department, including operational, human, capital, and budgetary resources.
  • Requirements:

    • At least 15 years of relevant experience as a banker with a proven business track record. Significant business experience in the countries where IDB Invest operates. Strong market and private sector company relationships (C-level) in Latin America and the Caribbean.
    • Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or another relevant field.
    • Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank's official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required.
    • There are no citizenship requirements.
    • Consanguinity: No family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
