SALARY: $16,977.56 - $26,403.60 Monthly $203,730.72 - $316,843.20 Annually

This is an at-will managerial position. The Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act (SB 2140) authorizes the Court to exclude managerial employees from the employment protection provisions of the Act subject to meet and confer.

TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES: This position is eligible for some telework following an initial training period.

ABOUT THE COURT

The Superior Court of Los Angeles County is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 36 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by 5,000 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 billion. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,752 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) leads the Court's strategy development and execution processes, the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), identifies and develops opportunities for external program research and collaboration, champions transformational innovation, and creates a robust program of data analytics and performance measures to further the mission and values of the Court.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee the Court's strategic planning and development activities.
  • Direct the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and manage high-priority projects.
  • Identify and manage collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and management of the Court's innovation incubator.
  • Develop and oversee the Court's performance metrics and data analytics program.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to the CEO and Senior Executive Team.
  • Ensure strategic objectives and key results are obtained.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the following minimum qualifications is acceptable:

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Statistics, Public Policy, or a closely related field.

Experience: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in roles related to organizational performance assessment, strategic project management, business analytics, program evaluation, and/or process improvement, three (3) years of which include supervisory responsibilities. Experience requirements may be met concurrently or separately within a candidate's job history.

Substitution: Four (4) years of directly related professional experience may be substituted for the four-year college degree.

Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
