Brigid Collins Family Support Center is looking for a contracted Child Care Worker who is excited to be a part of an organization committed to excellence in service to the community and workplace culture. Please note the Child Care Worker will work as contractor. Hours are variable, typically 3-6 hours per week or more, and are dependent on group activities. We are currently running childcare groups in Bellingham on Thursdays from 12pm - 3pm and are preparing for groups in Mount Vernon, day/time TBD. JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Child Care Worker Supervised By: Children's Program Coordinator & Clinical Director Location: Bellingham/ Mt Vernon Starting Wage: $19.12 / HR Other Compensation: Bellingham based Child Care workers who can work in Mt Vernon will be paid for the drive time between our offices and a standard mileage per diem if they use a personal vehicle. PURPOSE: Providing quality, trauma informed care to children to reduce barriers to parents and families that are participating in family engagement programs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Brigid Collins staff with childcare (supervision, activities, assisting with meals).
  • Act with integrity and professionalism.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Brigid Collins' clients.
  • Maintain a warm, open-minded attitude with children and caregivers.
  • Learn and apply evidence-based skills when interacting with children.
  • Always maintain a safe and clean environment and inform supervisor of unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with preparation and clean up.
CONDITIONS OF CONTRACTED EMPLOYMENT Position has very limited hours can be variable depending on activities. Hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change with limited notice. This position will generally work three to six hours per week. We are specifically looking for people with availability on Thursdays between 12pm and 3pm. Hours may increase in the future as programs expand. The successful candidate must:
  • Sign Brigid Collins Child Care Provider Agreement.
  • Complete mandatory reporter training
  • Complete child abuse prevention training.
  • Complete First Aid/ CPR training.
  • Obtain Washington State Food Handler's Card.
  • Provide proof of ability to work in the United States
  • Successfully pass all Brigid Collins required background checks
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Experience caring for groups of infants and young children is preferred. Experience with evidence-based programs is desirable.
