Reports to: Child Nutrition ManagerSupervises: N/AJob Goal: To prepare and serve attractive and nutritious meals to students with efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.Performance Responsibilities:
Assists in quality food preparation and service.Demonstrates high standards of sanitation and safety.Practices the proper use and care of equipment and facilities.Stores food, supplies and equipment in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.Carries out assigned duties of collecting monies and meal counts in accordance with local, state and federal guidelnes.Helps establish and maintain a pleasant and positive atmosphere in the cafeteria.Must be able to obtain a School Bus Drivers License and drive a school bus when requested.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of basic principles of food cookery.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of food service equipment.
- Ability to be mentally alert and apply knowledge applicable to the job.
- Ability to operate dishwasher, food grinder, mixer, meat slicer, range, ovens, refrigerator, and freezer.
- Ability to operate computer, register, calculator, correctly and accurately as well as make change rapidly.
- Physical ability (able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, such as, walk, lift, stoop, stand, grasp, kneel, crouch, and key requiring repetitive motions.
