Login to Apply Child Nutrition Maintenance Technician, SupervisorJOB STATUS: UNTIL FILLED POSTING DATE: 06/27/2024 POSTING NUMBER: 00006641 LOCATION: Child Nutrition POSITION TITLE: Child Nutrition Maintenance Technician, SupervisorJOB DESCRIPTION:Primary PurposeMaintain kitchen and laundry appliances to the manufacturer's specifications for safe and proper operation.RESPONSIBILITIES:Major Responsibilities and Duties1. Supervise and direct the work of Child Nutrition maintenance technicians.2. Receive, and assign work orders to CN Maintenance Techs with completion of the assignments in a timely manner.3. Assist with planning and scheduling projects timely.4. Perform walkthrough inspections of new CN facilities.5. Perform quality control inspections on work completed by the CN Technicians.6. Repair and perform preventative maintenance on District appliances including but not limited to:Commercial ovens, stoves, steam cookers, kettles, steam tables, mixers, slicers, warmers, beverage dispensers, coolers, commercial, non-commercial washers, dryers, ovens, stoves, tilt skillet, etc.7. Ice machines and filters8. Install new laundry and kitchen equipment as needed.9. Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program for laundry and kitchen equipment.10. Maintain a log to track services and repairs of laundry and kitchen equipment.11. Test appliances and equipment for gas leaks as needed.12. Perform general/minor routine plumbing repairs as needed.13. Perform general/minor electrical repairs as needed.14. Perform other general routine maintenance.15. Pursue personal educational growth pertaining to appliance repair and preventative maintenance.16. Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to perform any additional task as assigned by direct report.17. Communicate with location manager each time service is provided. If the manager is unavailable, leave written communication detailing the status of equipment on which you performed service.18. Available to be on the on-call rotation.19. Order parts and equipment for repairs and service as needed.20. Attendance at work is an essential function.21. Respond to emergency calls as needed.22. Complete required number of Professional Standard hours for USDA and the district requirement.23. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.EXPERIENCE:Minimum Experience:* Minimum of five years of experience in kitchen and commercial appliance repairs and preventative maintenance programs preferred* Three years of experience in HVAC/refrigeration preferred* Appropriate license for refrigerant recovery preferredQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education/Certification:* High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred* Trade License as required by state or local authorities; preferred* Valid Texas driver's license* Eligible for coverage under the District's vehicle insurance programSpecial Knowledge/Skills:* Knowledge of state and local building codes* Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems* Ability to use a computer and other electronic devices* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing* Analytical and problem-solving abilities* Ability to read and understand instructions for maintenance and safety procedures* Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or other work plans* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions* Ability to operate hand and power tools* Ability to work independently* Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams* Ability to read and accurately interpret data of electrical and gas testing equipment, Volt/ohm/amp/meters, gas pressure, gas detection devises, etc.* Working knowledge of the basic elements of thermodynamics* Technical skills to evaluate and accurately diagnose problems with electrical and mechanical equipment* Ability to perform general routine maintenance when not performing kitchen equipment repairsOTHER INFORMATION:Equipment UsedSaws, drills, acetylene torches, small tools, ladders, pipe cutting tools, volt/ohm meters, and gas testing equipment.Working ConditionsMental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over); strenuous walking, standing and climbing.Irregular work hours; outside/inside, excessive hot and cold temperatures; slippery and uneven surfaces, works with hands in water, works in confined areas, works with high voltage equipment, works with hot and cold equipment, works around machinery with moving parts, works with toxic chemicals.JOB CONTACT INFORMATION:APPLY TO: GROUP / GRADE: Wage/Hour Status: Hourly; Reports To: Director, Child Nutrition; Date Revised: June 2024 SALARY: Pay Grade: 8 DAYS: 251
