**This is a 50% (20 hours per week) part-time position. Hours are between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, 2 to 3 days per week, and 1 to 2 Saturdays per month.Child Welfare Assistant Job Description:The Child Welfare Assistant is responsible for the delivery ofskill development services to clients referred to the agency. The Child Welfare Assistant is also responsible for assisting in the provision of family supervision during child/parent visitation. The Child Welfare Assistant must be able to develop a supportive relationship with the clients assigned to him/her, and work collaboratively with other members of the service delivery team.Child Welfare Assistant Position Benefits:

Child Welfare Assistant Performance Objectives:- Assessing the appropriateness of requests for services and interpreting the agency's services effectively to the client.
- Providing individual child, couple, and family skills assessment and training.
- Leading skill development groups focused on parenting, communication, social skills, and other skill development topics.
- Developing and coordinating skills groups and assessments.
- Developing individualized skill intervention plans for assigned cases.
- Providing transportation of clients.
- Providing supervision of assigned visitation.
- Providing written records and service documentation according to agency and regulatory standards.
- Meeting regularly with the Program Supervisor to discuss clinical issues, issues surrounding service delivery, and critical issues requiring supervisory consent or referral source authority.
- Being readily accessible to his/her clients for meetings according to their schedule or contract requirements at client-convenient times of the day or night.
Child Welfare Assistant Position Qualifications:- Be at least 21 years of age (to be covered by the agency's vehicle insurance coverage)
- Possess an Associate's degree in social work or a human services field.
- Be able to maintain a flexible schedule in response to program needs or caseload assignments.
- Have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Possess a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- Pass agency-required background checks.
- Be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Be able to carry car seats to and from the office and children's home.
- Be able to physically attend to young children and infants.
