The Cradle Club in Downtown Minneapolis is looking for an outstanding Assistant Director to join our management team!

As the Assistant Director of our Downtown Minneapolis school, you will work as part of an exceptional team to manage the daily operations of our vibrant center.
As our Assistant Director, you will work primarily to:
- Provide support and a strong sense of leadership within our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms.
- Candidates for this position should love and have experience working with children of the above ages.
- Candidates should desire to continue working primarily within classrooms both as a leader and support, contributing direction and guidance while also actively providing assistance, encouragement, and a helping hand where needed.
- Chosen candidate will serve both as a classroom substitute and as a mentor to teachers and children, ensuring excellence in education each and every day.
Additionally, you will:
- Assist the Center Director to develop and maintain a program of excellence that positively contributes to the care, nurturing, growth, and development of each child.
- Assist staff in maintaining excellence in classroom and behavior management to ensure the best learning environment for each child.
- Promote and maintain ongoing expertise and in-service compliance of all staff.
- Coordinate field trips and enrichment programs.
- Oversee curriculum-based assessments for all students, including conferences and child development plans/goals.
- Maintain the physical environment of the center meeting all safety and cleanliness standards of practice. Create and monitor effective cleaning and sanitation schedules.
- Assist the Center Director to employ, orient, train, and supervise all staff and volunteers assigned to the center, providing them with encouragement, assistance, and accountability.
- Monitor and observe safety issues of all adults and children in the center following safety rules, OSHA guidelines, and only allowing the use of safe equipment. Monitor accident reports and follow reporting rules.
- Assist the Center Director to conduct parent tours, enroll children, and communicate effectively with parents throughout orientation and in accordance with agency policy. Regularly provide newsletters, parent letters, and additional parent communication.
- Assist the Center Director to schedule staff to ensure compliance with regulatory ratios.
- Assist the Center Director to maintain records consistent with agency policy and procedure such as: Employee performance evaluations, attendance and progress, health and safety inspections, supplies and inventory, enrollment, billing, payment and collection records, records of compliments/complaints, and more.
- Assist the Center Director to report and maintain records of all reportable items to the CEO and the Board of Directors as requested. Maintain records of third-party payers as required.
- Ensure and maintain compliance with all licensing regulations.
- Recommend suggestions for improvements to management/owners and seek new ideas that enhance program quality and promote positive public relations.
Desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Proficiency in MN Rule 3 legislation, MN labor law, and OSHA requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks.
- Great problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Windows, Excel, Word, Google Suite, and database accounting software.
- Professional attire and outstanding customer service skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and trustworthiness.
- Evidence of physical fitness.
- Maturity and excellence in human relations.
- Demonstrates ability to identify individual and group needs for children.
- Current driver's license, First Aid, and CPR certification.

Education/Experience:
- Applicant must be MN DHS Rule 3 Lead Teacher qualified. A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in early childhood or other closely related field is preferred.
- Applicant must have at least three (3) years of experience in a childcare center with at least six months of management or supervisory experience and ninety (90) hours of accredited courses in staff supervision, human relations, and/or child development.
Hours for this position are full-time Monday-Friday. Candidate must be available to work a combination of full-time opening and closing shifts each week as arranged and coordinated with the Center Director.
