Assists teachers at pre-schools and Children's Centers in a variety of programs, instructional and non-instructional activities; performs work of a routine clerical nature as required. This posting is to fill multiple vacancies. Those assigned to the Early Childhood Program will work 4 hours/day. Those assigned to the Children Center will work up to 5.5 hours /day. EDUCATION: Must possess a secondary (i.e., high school) school diploma, or its equivalent (GED), and must have college units in child development or related field from a regionally accredited post secondary institution of higher education (preferred). EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years experience as a District Children's Services Assistant, or the equivalent, or other experience working with preschool or school aged children is required. SPECIAL LICENSE, CERTIFICATION OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Immunization records of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles The ability to read, write and speak another language, in addition to English, such as Armenian or Spanish, is highly desirable.
