Daniel Corpuz Chocolatier is a chocolate shop located in the heart of New York City's Chinatown from Chef Daniel Corpuz. Its focus is on handcrafted Filipino-American inspired chocolates and confections.
The Opportunity
The Pastry Cook will serve as a ‘Chocolatier,' and plays an integral part of the shop and will participate in the opening, planning, prep, set-up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets within departmental quality standards, recipes and artistic design of confections, all while upholding Daniel Corpuz Chocolatier's culture. The Pastry Cook will work closely to support the Pastry Chef in preparing ingredients, stocking and organizing, recipe development and executing production.
What You'll Be Doing
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of food service and storage facilities.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended,
properly and safely
Set up workstation with required mise en place, tools, equipment and supplies according to standards
Check production schedule and pars and establish priority items for the day
Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards in a time efficient manner
Restock items that were depleted during the shift
Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
Be a team player, support, and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
Ensure company policies, procedures and brand standards are always followed
Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
Complete other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:
1+ years of Pastry Cook experience in a restaurant or equivalent
Food Handler's permit (within 60 days upon hiring)
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50+ pounds
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business
High School diploma or the equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred
Must be able to read and write fluently in English
Basic Math Skills add, subtract, multiply, and divide
Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States
