Wieland is hiring a Continuous Improvement (C.I.) Coordinator. The CI Coordinator will be responsible for to support the continuous improvement program at the Duncansville, PA facility under the tutelage of the C.I. Manager. This position will help analyze and organize process flow of existing processes and projects with the guidance of the C.I. Manager. With said guidance, the work is to add lean production methodology to the existing quality-minded and service-minded culture. The C.I. Coordinator will utilize analytical and organizational skills to help facilitate and train to C.I. programs throughout the organization. . This role is located in Duncansville, PA and will be fully on-site.

Continuous Improvement Coordinator Ideal candidate:

    The candidate should be self-motivated/driven and be able to organize and spread enthusiasm for improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to teach problem-solving skills to all levels in the facility.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization skills. Must be able to prepare and deliver presentations regarding project results.
  • High energy, data driven, and results oriented.
  • Understanding of cross-functional teams and ability to implement improvements within an established time frame and sustain process improvements.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Responsibilities

Role Title Responsibilities:

  • With the tutelage of the C.I. Manager, the Coordinator will learn WSTPs C.I. processes and help train, coordinate and facilitate the following:
    • Continuous Improvement activities to implement thoughtful and effective lean programs such as value stream mapping, kaizen events, SMED events, and more.
    • Teach the next generation of leaders in lean principles, tools, and methodologies in order to expand the impact throughout the organization.
    • Be a resource to the team on concepts such as value stream thinking, elimination of waste, and problem solving across processes.
  • Learn to facilitate projects and support the department supervisors in the development and implementation of CI programs and shopfloor management with tools such as: 6S, MDI, SQDCP, Visual Management, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Kaizen Events.
  • Be an active participant in MDI meetings at appropriate levels.
  • Suggest coaching opportunities to the CI manager on prioritization, root cause analysis, developing effective countermeasures, and sustaining solutions.
  • Partner in my safety, our commitment by applying safety guidelines/processes and driving the organization to utilize CI thinking to identify sustainable solutions to problems or challenges within the interest of safety being our core value.
  • Supports digitalization initiatives.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Role Title Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, or an equivalent level of degree.
  • 3 + years' experience in project management, facilitating continuous improvement using lean tools and methodology and driving cultural transformations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Certification preferred, which includes both education and the hands-on ability to lead teams and implement improvements.
  • The role includes some travels to join Corporate CI events
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus
