The St. Louis Public Library's Divoll Branch is seeking a circulation assistant. This position needs someone who is comfortable working with the public and is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to providing excellent customer service. In this role you will:
- Assist customers with library card registration and checking out and returning materials.
- Assist in preparation, delivery, and receipt of Library materials; receive payment from customers.
- Provide assistance to customers with Library equipment.
- Restock and shelve materials, including shelf-reading, as necessary.
- Assist in opening and closing the location.
You will need to be:
- Friendly and able to multitask while assisting customers.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with competing tasks and priorities.
- Capable of effectively providing information and responding to questions from customers and staff.
- Flexible, positive, and willing to work with staff and colleagues to successfully overcome challenges.
You will need to have:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Comfort with using and learning new technology as the Library continues to evolve.

Hours for this position are:Mon.: 11:45 am - 8:15 pm, Tues.-Thurs.: 9:45 am - 6:15 pm, alternating Fri.& Sat.: 8:45 am - 5:15 pm, occasional Sunday: 12:45 - 5:15 pm, hours subject to change.About Divoll Library:
- The Divoll Branch first opened at 1100 Farrar Street in 1910. The library later moved to its present location at 4234 North Grand Boulevard, opening in 1967 and remodeled in 1998.

About the neighborhood:Divoll is located in the Fairground Neighborhood and was named in honor of Ira Divoll, the Father of the St. Louis Public Library. The location is near the Grand Avenue Water Tower, which was built in 1870. Also called The White Water Tower, it is the tallest free-standing Corinthian column in the world.
