We are seeking a highly skilled and driven individual for the role of Permitting & Licensing Specialist, a position offering significant opportunities for professional development and growth through job tasks and training and development opportunities.

Position Overview:

In this key role, you will exercise judgment in decision-making related to the issuance of permits and licenses. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will ensure that both residential and commercial building applications, as well as trade licenses and registrations, are processed efficiently and in accordance with all relevant laws, codes, and policies. As a trusted resource, you will collaborate with colleagues and clients, offering clear explanations of complex procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, process, and issue residential and commercial building permits, licenses, and registrations within the construction trade.
  • Apply knowledge of departmental operations, policies, and procedures in handling specialized clerical and technical tasks.
  • Prepare correspondence related to permit and licensing duties, maintaining meticulous records and files.
  • Interpret and explain complex building code requirements, laws, and ordinances to clients, ensuring transparency and understanding.
  • Evaluate and verify data accuracy before compiling detailed reports.
  • Supervise the preparation and maintenance of financial and statistical reports.
  • Operate and manage automated permit and inspection software, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
