Responsibilities of this position include scheduling, assigning and supervising all municipal survey work; providing legal descriptions and information to support land records requests; preparation and design of plans; and inspection and administration of various municipal construction projects. This position requires technical knowledge of land surveying, engineering design, and construction and requires the ability to be registered as a licensed land surveyor in the State of Wisconsin.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms professional land surveying tasks by providing or supervising review and compliance to Municipal or State Code Standards of development of Subdivision Plats, Assessor's Plats, Certified Survey Maps, Plats of Survey and legal descriptions for deeds and easements. Provides interpretation of property surveys, deeds, easement, and other land records for Engineering and other City departments in both in oral and written form.Works under the supervision of the Engineering Director to assure department goals are met.Directs or conducts construction site staking and related activities, including development of stakeout data from CAD plan sets.Supervises and/or conducts field surveys to locate property lines, and establish street, sewer, or water lines and grades.
