Company Overview:

Our client is a leading general contractor specializing in civil utilities and power projects across New York. They are known for their commitment to quality and excellence. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join their team and oversee the successful execution of key projects, first up will be a Saltwater pumphouse in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Supervision: Oversee daily operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all project phases.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to project managers and senior management on project progress and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the Power generation, transmission, distribution, pump station or heavy civil utilities markets.
  • Certifications: OSHA certification required. Additional certifications in construction safety and management are a plus.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of heavy civil construction practices, including regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
