**Duties**

Design pump stations and perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and material selection for pumps. Author business proposals and Statement of Qualifications to support business development. Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work for raw water quality parameter data compilation and analysis. Develop technical memoranda and preliminary design reports. Collaborate with disciplines to design water treatment plants and conveyance projects. Prepare a variety of moderately complex civil engineering deliverables. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work. Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Recognize, define, and resolve problems within assigned area. May provide direction and guidance to others. Function as a technical specialist. Under general supervision, perform all aspects of conventional design engineering and analysis. Assign tasks to and coordinates with other internal/external team members on less complex projects. Initiate contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work. Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership. Apply understanding of client interests and drivers to their own behavior and performance of the work under his/her responsibility. May provide support to business development or pursuit activities. Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes. Broaden knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. Learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures and apply to assigned tasks as appropriate. **Requirements**

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Biotechnology Engineering, plus 3 years of related experience. Requires successful passing of Fundamental Engineering exam. Must have experience required with the following technology tools and platforms: AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Primavera, and the Microsoft Office suite. Must have experience with water/wastewater infrastructure systems including pumping, treatment, and conveyance. Must have experience with water quality parameter data compilation and analysis, including collecting, assimilating, and managing data for engineering work. Experience must also include Performing Engineering Calculations, Equipment Sizing and Selection, and Cost Estimating. Must have experience with working in large project teams and Technical report writing. Must have field experience on an active construction site. Regional travel may be required to visit client site locations up to 10% of the time. Telecommuting is permissible within a reasonable commuting distance from the Greenville, SC office. Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
