Core Function
The Structural Design Engineer plays a critical role in designing safe, economical, and high-performing metal building systems. This includes structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop safe and cost-effective structures tailored to unique project requirements, adhering to relevant codes and standards.
- Use proprietary software to analyze and ensure the structural integrity of frames, secondary members, bracing, cranes, mezzanines, and panels.
- Work closely with detailing teams and other departments to communicate design requirements and ensure seamless project execution.
- Review and check structural drawings for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Engage in professional development and cross-training opportunities to enhance engineering knowledge and explore growth within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam prior to the hire date.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English communication.
- Educational background focused on structural engineering.
- Basic knowledge of building construction practices.
- Familiarity with current building codes and standard industry practices.
- Experience with pre-engineered metal building systems.
