EFI USA is seeking an Engineer in Training (EIT) to work in our Gaston, SC office on our engineering team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating engineering plans and supporting calculations on agricultural, wastewater, and geotechnical projects. They should have experience with AutoCAD and have strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Drafts construction plans, fabrication and technical exhibits, submittal details, topographic surveys, and conceptual layouts.
- Prepares and distributes calculations of concrete structures, hydraulic designs, and earth grading. Compile and write technical reports, and other quantities common for agricultural development projects. Reviews project parameters, bid packages, proposals from suppliers, vendors, and sub-contractors, process flow data, and technical reports.
- Summarizes and documents site conditions for typical civil engineering projects, recurring or milestone project meetings, and other project correspondence for internal and external presentations.
- Manages the activities associated with pre-development, design, and new construction projects by reviewing project specifications, blueprints, and plans, providing input into preparing estimates and project budgets, determining the staging requirements and assigning team members and subcontractor to jobs, and managing the day-to-day progress of the project from initial construction through delivery.
- Participates in and/or leads initial and on-going project planning meetings, assists in developing project scope and specifications, and prepares the project budget, timeline, and construction schedule.
- Communicates with company leaders to provide updates on the status of projects.
- Conducts project site inspections as needed to monitor progress and support project-assigned team members, steps in as needed and addresses issues, and resolves problems. Also, recommends, approves, or proposes modifications to the project plans, schedule, staffing, or budget as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT or PE license
- 2 - 5 years of engineering experience
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and design skills
