Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil Project Site Superintendent at Doganiero Construction in Clearwater, FL. The Site Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing personnel, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop detailed work plans and project schedules for site development activities.
  • Break down project phases into manageable tasks and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Monitor progress against the schedule and identify potential delays.

Site Management:

  • Oversee daily construction activities on the site, including earthwork, grading, utilities installation, paving, and landscaping.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors, ensuring they meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality of work, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.

Quality Control:

  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure all construction elements meet project standards and specifications.
  • Review and approve materials and workmanship before proceeding to the next phase.

Safety Management:

  • Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures on the job site.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions with workers and subcontractors.
  • Investigate and address safety incidents promptly.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the project manager, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports, including updates on project status, challenges, and potential issues.

Budget Management:

  • Monitor project costs and identify areas for cost optimization.
  • Track expenditures related to labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Address cost overruns and propose solutions to stay within budget.

Problem-Solving:

  • Identify and address any issues that arise on the site, including design conflicts, weather delays, and unexpected conditions.
  • Propose solutions to overcome obstacles and maintain project momentum.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory Skills, Quality Control, and Budgeting
  • Experience in Commercial Construction and Construction Safety
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred but not required
