Senior Structural EngineerLocation: Chicago, IllinoisAbout the Role:We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Structural Engineer to join our Chicago-based team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with astrong foundation in structural design, a passion for client engagement, and the ability to lead projects and mentor a team. The successful candidate will contribute to diverse projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, educational, healthcare, and industrial buildings.Key Responsibilities:
  • Structural Design and Analysis:
    • Lead the structural design of complex building projects using materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
    • Conduct structural analysis, develop engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
    • Oversee the preparation of design documents, drawings, and calculations.
    • Client Engagement:
      • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with their goals and expectations.
      • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
      • Maintain and expand client relationships to support ongoing and future projects.
      • Manage and oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
      • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and consultants, to deliver integrated solutions.
      • Conduct project reviews and implement quality assurance procedures.
      • Team Development and Mentorship:
        • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and technical staff.
        • Lead project teams and promote a collaborative work environment.
        • Identify opportunities for professional development and encourage team growth.Qualifications:
          • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
          • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; SE license preferred or willingness to obtain.
          • 10+ years of structural engineering experience with a strong focus on building projects.
          • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Revit, ETABS, RISA, SAP2000, or similar).
          • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
          • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage teams effectively.
