Claims Assistant - Marsh McLennan Agency : Job Details

SUMMARY:

As a Claims Assistant for the Marsh McLennan Agency, you will be a pivotal member of the claims team by providing administrative support to our claims colleagues and clients. Our claims team provides oversight and advocacy on behalf of our clients throughout the process of a loss event and the life of a claim. Duties include:

• Submit claims or provide guidance on claim submissions
• Follow up on claim submissions
• Gather information and documentation from clients and stakeholders
• Maintain proper documentation in company databases
• Prepare reports
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders via phone and email
• Assist claims team colleagues as needed
• Review adjuster's claim action plans and communicate status updates
• Evaluate insurance company claim reserves and push for reductions where appropriate

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred

• 2 years of related claims experience preferred
• Adjusters license
• Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices
• Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve clients, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing and embrace new challenges
• Coverage analysis skill necessary to accurately report new claims involving multi-line policies
• Ability to successfully interpret policy and claims related documentation
