Position SummaryThe CDL Class A Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting rental equipment to customers and job sites both locally and out-of-town. The Truck Driver should be able to perform all duties of delivering rental equipment in all weather conditions, regardless of the time of day and within the confines of the law. Prior training and/or experience with similar commercial equipment, experience driving flat-beds, RGN/lowboy, dovetail trailers, is preferred. The CDL Class A Truck Driver is heavy haul driver position responsible for transporting a wide variety of oversized equipment.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle
- Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
- Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
- Transport equipment from the place of origin to assigned destination
- Ensure contents are properly secured on the truck to prevent breakage or damage
- Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations
- Perform inspections of vehicle prior to and following each trip
- Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
- Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
- Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions
- Comply DOT regulations, observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations
- Any other duties as assigned
RequirementsQualifications & Skills:
- Proficient in oral and written communication skills
- Pass drug test, background, and medical check (DOT Physical)
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Daily and monthly vehicle inspections
ducation & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years industry experience
- 1-3 years commercial driving experience
License & Certification
- Class A CDL with acceptable driving record
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- AWP/Forklift Certifications
- OSHA 10
Working Conditions:Work is normally performed on the road/highway and on various job sites and terrains. Work is normally perform outdoors, and exposure to risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position. The ability to drive at night and in all weather conditions is required. The employee could occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles. Frequently walking on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions is associated with this position. Must be able to climb on and off trucks, cranes, and heavy mobile equipment safely. The employee will be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment.Physical Requirements:
