Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Those interested in Para Educator Sub positions must meet the follow ESEA requirements:
* Completed at least 2 years of study (72 quarter credits or 48 Semester hours) at an institution of higher education OR
* Earned associate's (or higher) degree OR
* Can Demonstrate (by passing the Paraprofessional on-line test. Contact District Office for more information.)
* 1) knowledge of, and ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and math.
* 2) knowledge of, and ability to assist in, instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and math readiness.
3. Those interested in Food Service Sub positions must hold a valid Food Handler's Permit
4. Those interested in Bus Driver Sub positions should have a Commmerical Drivers License
with bus driver endorsement. Contact Human Resources for information
on specific requirements and information on training opportunities.
5. Must be willing to work at BOTH ClallamBay and Neah Bay Schools
6. Ability to take and follow directions. Must be reliable and responsible.
7. Have or can obtain clearance from Washington State Patrol and the FBI background check.
It is the successful applicant's responsibility to pay for the cost of the background check,
currently $55.00.
Essential Job Functions:
* Substitute in various positions as needed when current employees are absent.
* Maintain privacy and protection of student and family information as mandated by the code of ethics, federal and state regulations and school district policies.
* Demonstrate professional responsiblity and competency in managing and organizing materials, equipment and environment.
* Develop open lines of communication with students and staff.
* Maintain a positive attitude, good work ethic and demonstrate promptness in work arrival and in accomplishing all tasks.
* Other customary and reasonable duties as assigned.
Application Process:
* Complete and submit an application on line or at the District Office including copies of diploma and transcripts if applicable. Completed applications will be forwarded to the principal or department supervisor for screening and interview.
* If a recommendation is made to add the applicant to the sub list, the applicant should apply for WSP/FBI fingerprint clearance by having prints taken. This can be done at the District Office. (Appointments preferred: 360.###.####) Cost of the background check will be paid via payroll deduction from the employees first check.
* After fingerprints have been taken, the applicants name will be placed on the agenda for Board approval. Applicants cannot be called to substitute until after approval is granted.
