Moormanup to 197 days QUALIFICATIONS: Certification by Kentucky Department of Education REPORTS TO: Principal SUPERVISES: N/A (Directly) JOB GOAL: Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the need and learning styles of each pupil.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluates pupil's academic, behavioral, and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports on a regular basis.
  • Communicates with students and parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program.
  • Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays and bulletin boards.
  • Maintains professional competence through professional staff development activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
  • Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in the district evaluation process.
  • Selects and requisitions books, equipment and other instructional materials' maintains required inventory records.
  • Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
  • Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district testing program.
  • Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
  • Participates in faculty meetings, team meetings, departmental meetings, committees and the sponsorship of pupil co-curricular activities as assigned.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques, strategies and media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Implements by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff.
  • Accepts responsibility for appropriate utilization of and the care of equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
  • Assists in enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board Policies.
  • Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and strategies.
