Our AZACS Teacher's Academy will provide those with a bachelor's degree the potential to advance your career through hands-on learning, comprehensive training, and support from certified educational professionals.We are seeking Classroom Teacher candidates to implement instruction in a classroom with support from campus leadership. Under the supervision and direction of campus leadership; the Classroom Teacher will teach and implement Arizona Autism Charter School's (AZACS) adopted curriculum and students' IEP goals within the AZACS structured classroom model.Candidates must be experienced with classroom teaching, and ABA teaching strategies, and have significant experience conducting these activities within school settings. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to be trained, coached and be able to motivate behavior staff in the classroom. The Classroom Teacher will work hand-in-hand with the SPED Campus Leadership and the ABA Manager implementing a best-practice education model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum and related disorders.Duties:
- Serve as lead teacher and point person in a classroom
- Work with a classroom team that includes work with a classroom teacher
- Ensure classroom support staff are implementing instructional strategies and lessons as set forth
- Create a safe and effective learning environment
- Weekly lesson planning for instruction of state standards
- Provide daily feedback to support staff
- Participate in regular observations and in-the-moment coaching from campus leadership and report data with high fidelity and analyze data bi-weekly to make instructional decisions
- Regular parent communication following AZACS guidelines
- Modification of materials to meet student needs and IEP requirements
- Maintain substitute plans in case of absence
- Participate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty member
- Contribute to IEPs as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned by the administration
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities in a classroom environment preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Enrollment in AZACS Teaching Certification program or a college/university certification program is required after obtaining a bachelor's degree
- Mastery and enthusiasm for best practices in autism education and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Track record of success in behavior management with students with autism or other special needs
- Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
- Ability to communicate with parents, co-workers and professional contacts in a courteous and professional manner and following AZACS guidelines
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Experience in structured teaching, center-based model preferred
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA)

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Set up of lessons and instructional activities for classroom support staff. Coaches, monitors, and mentors classroom support staff working with students with disabilities.
