We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1.5 - 4 years of experience in renewable energy finance, or infrastructure underwriting. This position combines project finance expertise, quantitative analysis, and portfolio management, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of energy and sustainability while collaborating with a dynamic team. The Analyst will play a critical role in evaluating and assessing the risk associated with submissions seeking insurance for energy infrastructure and distributed renewable energy projects. You will work closely with the internal team as well as with external stakeholders to support project financing, development, and execution. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Analysis
  • Conduct rigorous financial and market analysis to evaluate potential projects, including creating detailed financial models, conducting sensitivity analyses, and risk modeling.
  • Perform techno-economic evaluations of business opportunities, including project transactions, business plans, technology development, and engineering status.
  • Build and maintain financial models for project finance transactions, incorporating sensitivity analysis, various financing structures, and the latest project parameters.
  • Develop models to assess the economic viability of renewable energy, providing pricing guidance for leases and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) offers.
Project Financing
  • Support review of project finance transactions by preparing models, third-party reports, and deliverables for the underwriting team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information for due diligence processes.
Portfolio Management
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics of the insured portfolio companies and projects, and collaborate with (re)insurance partners in preparing timely financial reports and performance updates.
  • Generate accurate reports and assist in strategic decision-making.
Project Development
  • Conduct due diligence on projects within the insurance submission pipeline, assessing financial, operational, and regulatory risks to validate risk viability.
  • Support communication flow between internal teams and key stakeholders, including clients, financiers, (re)insurers, and execution teams.
Market Research & Trends
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, government policies, and financing structures impacting renewable energy and energy infrastructure sectors.
  • Communicate insights to the team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with internal teams, including development, legal, accounting, and external stakeholders, to drive project financing and execution.
  • Engage with third-party investors, communicating project progress, financial performance, and addressing inquiries professionally and promptly.
Continuous Improvement & Business Development
  • Actively contribute to improving business systems, processes, and CRM tools.
  • Support the creation and management of marketing materials, proposals, and term sheets to drive business growth and client success.
Travel
  • Occasional travel may be required.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, business, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1.5 years in renewable energy finance or infrastructure investing.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Strong understanding of valuation techniques, LBO modeling, cash flow forecasting, and financing structures (debt and tax equity).
  • Sector Knowledge: Knowledge of energy infrastructure, renewable energy markets, utilities, energy storage, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex financial data, evaluate investment opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit and supportive team environment.
  • Self-Starter: Motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
  • Graduate degree (MBA or CFA) or experience in related industries such as engineering, insurance, or professional services.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Technical understanding of renewable energy technologies and project finance.
