Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled PCB Assembler to join our team in Newport, Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will possess at least an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, specifically in PCB layout assembly (printed circuit boards). This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Fully On-Site in Newport , RI
Work Authorization / Clearance Level: This Position requires the Ability to obtain a DoD US Govt. Secret Security Clearance (Due to the Rules and Regulations and Requirements from the US Govt and our Client - Candidates must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship or US Govt Permanent Resident - If Candidates already have an Active Secret Clearance - even better
Responsibilities: Perform electro-mechanical assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Utilize hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and other assembly tools to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Conduct PCB layout assembly, including component placement, soldering, and inspection, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise, collaborating with engineering and production teams to implement solutions. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and procedures at all times. Adhere to production schedules and deadlines, meeting or exceeding productivity and quality targets. Document assembly processes, procedures, and any deviations for future reference and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, with a focus on PCB layout assembly (printed circuit boards).
- Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB assembly techniques, and soldering practices.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Experience with hand and power tools commonly used in assembly processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and industry best practices is preferred.
