Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Clerical AssistantDate Posted: 1/7/2025Location: Portland High SchoolClosing Date: 01/21/2025District: Portland Public SchoolsPortland Public Schools: Clerical Assistant- Part TimePortland Public Schools is welcoming applicants for a Part Time Clerical Assistant vacancy at PACE- Adult and Community EducationGeneral Description: Provides clerical and administrative support to the administration, staff, students, and parents. This position reports to the Director of PACE.The desired candidate would possess the following attributes:
  • Exceptional communication, analysis, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle complex and stressful issues or situations with sound judgment, common sense, and a calm demeanor
  • Ability to collect and maintain student data in a confidential manner
  • Impeccable character, a good sense of humor, and compassion for lower elementary students, families, and staff
  • Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues
  • Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement
Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma
  • Experience in account keeping and data entry, preferred
  • Experience with basic office procedures (telephones, computer programs, printers, etc.), preferred
Position Details:
  • Title: Clerical Assistant
  • Reports to: PACE Director
  • Calendar: One evening per week, school year only
  • Schedule: Monday or Wednesday evening from 3pm-8pm or as determined by the building Director
  • Compensation: In accordance with PESPA contract, $13.05-15.49 per hour plus education stipend
