Provide housing assistance to applicants and residents experiencing housing instability. Interview applicants and verify needed documentation in order to house new tenants and correctly process rental charges. Process and maintain applications in SAC system and update applicant and resident information as needed. Address applicant and resident inquiries regarding applications/waiting lists, rental payments, maintenance requests, etc. Identify applicant and resident needs, provide information, initiate referrals, and counsel households on available resources to promote housing retention and stability, as well as healthy and safe living conditions. Manage resident paperwork in accordance with VHA s policies and procedures for determination of family income, rent computations, adjustments, and recertifications. Assist with delinquent residents to secure overdue rents and implement eviction proceedings, if necessary.
