Position: Front Office Coordinator Job Description: Make sure front office door is unlocked at start of shift and turn on lights. Answer phones. Schedule patients. Verify insurance or make sure the system has verified insurance. Confirm with patient what insurance they have and what plan. Confirm appointment is for the body part on the referral/auth and make sure that is in the patient s appt sticky note. Review all incoming emails. Direct the emails to the appropriate person. Attach all patient information to the patient s chart and task the individual person as needed in regards to the fax. Receive all mail and distribute to the necessary individuals. Confirm that all patient s for the next 2 days have been confirmed. If not confirmed, call the patient to confirm or cancel patient prior to day of appointment. Mark appropriately in Mod Med. Print out faxes that require signatures and provide to the appropriate provider for signature. When received back, make sure signature on all pages and that there are dates and times if necessary, then fax back to the appropriate company. Check in patients and if new patient s make sure the kiosk is used. Confirm pharmacy and obtain insurance cards and photo id. Collect any copays, deductibles or coinsurance as required by insurance. Post all copays, deductibles or coinsurances collected into Mod Med as well as on daily tally. Do the daily close and submit to management. Receive list of patients from call coverage that need follow up appointments and call and schedule them. Make sure front door is locked at end of work day and lights are off. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Microsoft office: basic word, excel and outlook proficiency. Prior experience dealing with public on phone and in person. Medical Office experience required Experience with EPIC EHR required Prompt, dependable, takes ownership, flexibility and service oriented. Previous Administrative experience of 6 Months to 1 Year is highly desired.
