Job Description:
The Norwich Free Academy is accepting application for the College & Career Center Coordinator. This is a twelve-month position with benefits as outlined in the 12 month employee handbook.
The College & Career Center Coordinator will help support the daily operations of the Anne Macaione Mitchell '44 College & Career Center at NFA. The coordinator will assist students with career pathway programs, college admission processes, internships, career exploration and finding job opportunities. They will also help organize and monitor pipeline programs, career and college fairs, promote FAFSA, and help provide information for students and families.
Essential Functions Include:
* Helping students in the College & Career Center in its daily operations
* Assisting with building partnerships with the community business/industry
* Supporting career Pipeline opportunities and students
* Helping coordinate college, career & job fairs
* Assisting with workshops: resume writing, interview skills, networking, financial aid, etc.
* Helping promote Career Center activities (in conjunction w/Communications)
* Assisting with administration and coordination of career pathway speakers & events
* Assisting with coordination of Military Recruiters and ASVAB testing
* Hosting College Admissions Representatives visiting NFA
* Assisting with the scholarship database (maintain database, promote to students, etc.)
Qualifications:
* Associate's degree in related field
* Relevant experience working with high school students or young adults
* Demonstrated success working with community agencies & business entities.
* Knowledge of educational systems, college admissions processes, and career trends
* Communicate effectively, both written and orally.
* Proficient use of technology (MS word, excel, electronic media, online resources, etc)
* Energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently in a busy, diverse environment.
