The RoleThe Client Strategy Director for Activation supports Indie Consulting's service teams in delivering cutting-edge growth marketing strategies. Collaborating closely with the CEO and Service Team Leads, this marketing leader will concentrate on driving client growth through tactical execution, optimizing marketing campaigns, and building a high-performing team of growth marketing experts. Our team of ambitious learners is dedicated to performance-driven marketing rooted in empathy.ResponsibilitiesThe Client Strategy Director for Activation will oversee and advance Indie Consulting's client services with a focus on go to market growth marketing tactics. As a Client Strategy Director, you will:
  • Lead a portfolio of client accounts with a focus on driving measurable growth.
  • Manage a team of full-time employees and contractors to implement best-in-class growth marketing strategies.
  • Balance long-term planning (12 months+) with short-term activation tactics to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Analyze client business challenges and opportunities to recommend and execute data-driven, growth-focused marketing tactics.
  • Drive the implementation of Indie's activation strategy, ensuring alignment with client objectives and business goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute campaigns, optimize workflows, and deliver results.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving skills to find mutually beneficial solutions for Indie and our clients.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of various business models and apply growth marketing principles to solve client challenges.
  • Guide the Indie team in developing and executing growth marketing plans that meet client objectives.
  • Continuously optimize campaign workflows and processes to enhance client outcomes.
  • Rapidly acquire business acumen across multiple verticals to become a trusted expert in growth marketing.
  • Develop and maintain strong engagement plans with clients and partners.
  • Champion thought leadership in growth marketing tactics and activation strategies.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of client-facing playbooks and ways of working.
  • Inspire and mentor direct and indirect reports with a passion for all aspects of growth marketing.
  • Identify and capitalize on new opportunities for clients, translating them into actionable strategies and profitable initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development of project briefs, proposals, and new business opportunities.
  • Upskill the team in translating business goals into actionable growth marketing strategies, critical thinking, and effective communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.
RequirementsWho You Are
  • Proven experience in digital marketing and media with a strong focus on growth marketing tactics. Experience in media buying/planning or working with global teams is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing client strategies, particularly with a focus on driving growth through paid, earned & owned marketing activation.
  • A successful track record in creating and implementing multi-year growth plans for clients.
  • Ability to introduce and evangelize innovative growth marketing tactics and activation strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders, including executive teams and industry groups.
  • Expertise in media, marketing, and technical subject matter with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of growth marketing strategies, including how data, media, owned platforms, measurement, and technology drive client success.
  • Skilled in leveraging people, resources, and services to achieve company objectives.
  • Ability to promote service offerings, nurture leads, and close deals to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in a strategic or client services role, preferably in a professional services, agency, or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated success in balancing business development with managing an existing client portfolio.
  • Experience leading marketing projects from discovery through execution, with a focus on growth marketing tactics.
  • Deep understanding of omnichannel marketing, branding, and emerging technologies that drive growth for clients.
  • Strong client expectation management skills with the ability to navigate nuanced situations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and handle challenging situations with grace and empathy.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 20-30%, depending on internal team and client needs.
Reporting Relationships: This position reports to the CEO.Location: New York, NY in a hybrid work setting (split between working from home, shared offices, and client locations).Compensation: As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Indie Consulting provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. The salary range for this role is $140,000-$160,000 per year, with potential commission and bonus eligibility up to $200K+ annually.
