Job Description :

Performs routine cleaning and upkeep within medical and dental clinic, and other assigned areas.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday - Friday; 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM

JOB FUNCTIONS:

include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Cleans, disinfects, vacuums, sweeps, and mops all restrooms. Stocks restrooms with paper and other products.
  • Dusts and/or cleans and disinfects furniture, equipment, tops of doors, window ledges, desk, counter tops, light fixtures and switches, chairs, and tables.
  • Cleans and disinfects carpet, floors, walls, and doors.
  • Cleans and disinfects trash containers
  • Cleans out staff refrigerators
  • Cleans windows and glass.
  • Uses and stores chemicals according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Inventories cleaning supplies, paper products, etc when low and informs supervisor.
  • Processes all custodial supply purchases through their supervisor.
  • Performs minor maintenance and repair work, such as: changing filters, replacing light bulbs etc.
  • Notifies supervisor when major repairs are needed.
  • Maintains and upkeeps equipment and tools needed for job function.
  • Receives, stocks, and rotates cleaning supplies.
  • Communicates and receives approval through the Lead Custodian for supply purchases orders.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the efficient operations of the Tribe.
  • Requirements

    General Requirement:

    • Must be insurable through the Tribe's vehicle insurance required.
    • Must pass a criminal and fingerprint background check according to P.L. 101-630 standards required.
    • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening required.

    Education & Experience:

    • Preferred High School diploma, equivalent (GED) or higher but not required.

    Licensing & Certification:

    • Must possess, maintain, and provide proof of a valid Driver's License required.

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to work in the clinic environment and not repeat confidential information seen or overheard while performing job function.
    • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
    • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
    • Comfortable working around chemicals and other cleaning products.
    • Knowledge of S.D.S.
    • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
    • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
    • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
    • Ability to do sustained physical work.
    • Ability to make independent judgments which have minor impacts on the department.
    • Sufficient reading and writing ability to read and understand such things as: product labels and work instructions.
