Job Description: The Clinical Analyst works collaboratively with users of the electronic medical record and is responsible for: coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information and 3rd party systems.
- Participates in all aspects of systems analysis, planning, design, development, testing, implementation, utilization of best practices, and evaluation of clinical information systems.
- Engages in effective, positive interpersonal relations, and communications.
- Participates in and provides support to the Centers strategic initiatives.
- Coordinates the processing and follow-up of requests for enhancement and changes from users or others affected by the system. Work with the informatics team to translate health system strategies and requirements into strategic informatics implementation plans for the EMR, such as the development of governance structures related to data collection, retrieval, analysis and interpretation to assist in optimization of patient outcomes and/or effectiveness, and efficiency through the use of clinical decision support tools and embedded evidence-based practice where appropriate.
- Coordinates, participates in and documents maintenance of the clinical information system, including revisions, fixes, enhancements, testing, and integration of changes in components of their assigned user group (i.e. ED, surgery).
- Collaborates with internal and external customers including, but not limited to; Information Services, Talent Development Resources, Nursing, Marketing, Medical Staff, vendors and other ancillary departments in coordinating evaluation of development efforts, in planning pilot and full implementations of new features, in filtering user feedback and requests, and in collaborating on computer training and orientation activities for all current and incoming employees.
- Participates on and works in consultation with committees, work groups, and task forces as needed to communicate and facilitate the ongoing progress of the development, implementation, and optimization of documentation systems.
- Maintains a detailed understanding and working knowledge of the current computer system, its functions and its relationship to other information systems within the enterprise.
- Utilize the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine the appropriate informatics workflow for clinical or related functions when appropriate, ensuring consistency with professional standards of practice and mandated requirements. Understands the legal implications of complying with HIPAA, PHI, and PCI.
- Documents decisions and workflows in conjunction with Change Control as appropriate.
QualificationsJob Qualifications:
- Clinical licensure required; Certified Health Informatics System Professional (CHISP) preferred.
- Associate Degree required; Bachelors or higher degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in the clinical field along with clinical information systems development and/or implementation preferred.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
