Description Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment to the highest of clinical standards of cleanliness throughout KANA's facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supports the organization's mission and goals and quality standards. Incorporate KANA's core values of Courtesy, Caring, Respect, Sharing, and Pride in all activities, actions, and decisions.
  • Upholds KANA's Code of Ethics by conducting himself/herself in a professional manner with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.
  • Provides exceptional custodial services as assigned for spaces that may include exam rooms, offices, conference rooms, restrooms, and public areas and other areas as assigned by routinely removing trash or debris, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, wiping handrails, doorknobs, other high touch items, and cleaning windows. This may include driving to multiple sites throughout the workday.
  • Cleans clinic exam rooms, including ones that have been placed under isolation by washing and disinfecting all surfaces including walls, windows, blinds, exam table, floors, etc.
  • Cleans surfaces that have been exposed to infectious materials or potentially infectious substances, such as blood or body fluids, and collect and dispose of biohazard material. Must attend and stay current with biohazard training.
  • Completes cleaning tasks using appropriate methods, equipment, and provided products. Follow aseptic and isolation cleaning techniques when necessary by wearing personal protective equipment and using appropriate cleaning and disinfecting products according to established procedures.
  • Continually spot-checks KANA lobbies and public areas and entrance doors, cleaning any spills or messes, cleaning fingerprints from glass, sanitizing high touch items, and tidying up as needed.
  • Monitors facilities to ensure a safe environment, uses Zendesk work ticket system to report any safety concerns or contacts supervisor immediately if the situation requires.
  • Removes trash and recycling/shredded materials from assigned locations on a recurring basis. Disposes of trash in dumpster and prepares recycling/shredded materials for pick up.
  • Ensures all entryways and covered sidewalks are clean and clear of debris, sweeping and removing trash as needed, assisting with snow removal as required, emptying and cleaning exterior trash cans as needed.
  • Organizes, cleans, and stocks inventory in assigned custodial closets from supplied stock, and notifies supervisor when levels are getting low.
  • Greets and interacts with visitors, staff, and others in a professional courteous manner, and direct visitors as appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; two years of custodial experience or successful completion of the Custodian II training program. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Position must annually complete all certification training requirements and 15 hours of position specific continuing education training. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Driver's License for the past three consecutive years with acceptable driving record.
