The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Clinical Director to oversee all clinical and behavioral service for our Connecticut Programs.Your role as a Clinical Director:The Clinical Director facilitates Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), crisis management, and clinical education for all CT Services. The Clinical Director provides relevant training to management and staff. A key objective of the role is to implement the principles of Trauma Informed Positive Behavior Supports (TIPBS) for the programs. The Clinical Director supervises Master's Level Clinicans, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), navigators, and student interns. They also oversee all clinical and behavioral services for Connecticut. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct/oversee interviews and direct observations with individuals and support staffCreate/oversee crisis plans.Act as the primary liaison with crisis services and clinical inpatient and outpatient services.Participate and contribute to family meetings, DMHAS meetings, psychiatry meetings, discharge planning meetings, crisis meetings, and other relevant meetings.Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with program staff, managers, supervisors, direct care staff, Behaviorist and external stakeholders.Provide ongoing clinical training and consultation to program staff and management on clinical concepts, person centered principles, documentation systems, data collection, and interventions.Make referrals for needed services for individuals as needed (therapy, psychiatry, substance abuse treatment, neuropsychological assessment, etc.).Oversee all PSRB plans and ensure team is trained and adhering to planParticipate in the new referral and intake process including assessing the mental health and behavioral needs of the referral as well as determining and implementing clinical needs. REQUIRMENTS:Master's Degree in related clinical field.Must be licensed in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Nursing or related field in the state of CT.Five years' experience in the field of clinical mental health.A working knowledge of psychotropic medication.Five years' experience in the field of disability services.Valid Connecticut driver's license and a reliable vehicle for work purposes.SUCCESS FACTORS:Ideal candidates will be team oriented, possess a positive attitude, and genuine interest in supporting individuals to live a positive, happy life.Skills required:Possess a deep knowledge of current clinical strategies, studies, and trends. Understanding of behavior dynamics using evidence based practices.Ability to foster a relationship and environment that provides open communication, support, and understanding of an individual's gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to monitor the flow of written communications and record keeping internally and externally. Respond to teammates and external stakeholders in a timely mannerAble to adjust to change productively. Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other electronic systems used by CHD.Excellent leadership skills and decision-making ability. Able to effectively problem solve.
